So we shouldn't take any other review that scores this game an 8/10 seriously, am I right? Okay, let's blacklist nearly 80% of all the reviews so far. Smart isn't it?

For that matter, when IGN scored Resistance 2 a 9.5/10 or Uncharted a 9.5/10 we should not take it seriously. They are a joke....(sarcasm)

Get your head out of your hole and wake up. The game is categorized as "good," but certainly there are areas of improvement as outline...

They were actually very far from the beginning. It was only because IGN gave Lair, Heavenly Sword, and Warhawk bad reviews that ...fanboys... started going berserk and paranoid. To me, IGN is very fair with almost all of their games (yes there is about 5% that are questionable, but overall, they have spot on reviews). They grade on an overall experience not just the sum of a game's parts. They take into account different perspectives such as the hardcore fan, the casual gamer, and the gam...

I think the fanboys still remember you, lol. +bubble btw.

You failed math didn't you? You don't add 5 to each category to round up to an x/10 review. You multiply the numerator and denominator by 2....in other words its a 9/10.

Dude, you've already posted this in 5 articles. I think that is way enough. Just end the cycle of hate here. I think the fanboys are getting the picture. Your post just gets really annoying after seeing it 5 times already.

There is only one thing I can say about your comment - LOL
(I think you are going to need to blacklist IGN, CVG, Gamereactor, and a bunch of other sites because everyone gave it ~8)

Seriously, just stop reading the reviews and play the game.

You should probably tell that to all the other 8/10's that are coming in. IGN is not the only one that scored GT5 within this range.

Estimates are educated guesses, am I right? I don't see the issue here.

Your Uncharted 2 example is flawed compared to your whole argument. You are talking about highest selling games for a given year, yet you bring up it's maximum lifetime sale. Uncharted 2 sold around 1.5M during 2009 when it was released.

Also, I highly doubt 500k-800k in the US. GT5 Prologue had a debut of approximately 400k a couple years ago. The maximum I see for the game is 400k to 550k (your lower bound estimate) based on Prologue's debate and historical release...

True, they won't understand what GT is all about because they will see the reviews and turn away from buying it :) (I am only kidding)

It will not light up the score chart (I predict it will stay around 90 to 91), but I am sure it will light up the sales for Sony. However, the troubling part of the game is the fact that it is not exactly accessible to new comers based on everything I have seen (I am talking about the menu navigation and customization options, not the gamepla...

For a lot of people bashing this site, I wonder how you take criticism of your performance when you work for a company and your boss's expectations are high. Do you honestly go ape-shit and come up with some excuses of why you did not excel in one area or a not? Honestly, think about it.

The review is trying to point out things that need to be improved or does not perform as intended. This is not meant as an attack on Sony or Polyphony. It is meant as constructive critici...

I guess you lack in reading comprehension eh? He IS NOT comparing gameplay between GT5 and NFS. He is comparing PIECES such as physics, design, and immersion. He stated NOTHING about the gameplay between the two. The only thing he did mention is that NFS excels in the physics, design (car), and immersion.

If you actually look at the whole picture it isn't nitpicking (reviews are suppose to nitpick, mind you..that is what a review is for). The purpose of simulators is to immerse you in the environment and make you feel like you are actually driving in this 'realistic' environment. The 2D trees and sextuplets in the crowds really takes away from that immersion and becomes distracting since they are so poorly done. Although, Forza 3 does have 2D trees and somewhat disfigured crowds, t...

They did not judge it against Hot Pursuit 1 to 1. The reviewer only touched on the graphics and crash physics that appear superior to that of GT5. I don't see an issue with him comparing 1 piece of HP to one piece of GT5. In other words, he is not comparing the gameplay of each game like a lot of people here are assuming.

So we are filtering reviews based on discrimination huh? Cool.....(not)

5571d ago 3 agree4 disagreeView comment

Or possibly the casual folks who have not been following the game for 15 years? I'm sure Sony would like to see sales go through the roof for this game.

You should clarify as saying "the americans that I interact with/know" rather than denoting all americans. I am a US citizen and I don't share the perception that you are stereotyping.

Contrary to what many people here think, marketing is essential to EXPAND the player base. Sure, the 2M or so people who are dedicated to the game will purchase it. But, the key to creating/continuing a great franchise is to bring more players into the mix.

As a result, the marketing will provide greater exposure to those who have not heard of Gran Turismo or who are not 100% aware that it is about to release.

Additionally, the marketing is important to remin...

And I am saying that the media will treat it for what it is and based on the expectations that are set forth based on development cycle, content, and lack of content. You may not care about my premise, but I care about the fact that people are misconstruing the role of the media in reviewing games as well as how naive people are towards what is being said.

I'm saying that unless you can provide a statistically significant correlation between when they withhold a review until the last day and the actual review score, then I do not believe your premise.
